All-time Favourite for wave freaks

The easternmost of the Caribbean islands, Barbados is called the "gateway to the West Indies" and has long been a port of call for ships from Europe.

Spanish and Portuguese adventurers arrived here in search of gold, riches and fame (and rum!) – and found lush vegetation and a small population.

Today, Barbados is called the "little England of the Caribbean" because of its British influence. Nevertheless, the islanders have given their own special twist to the British traditions, changing them with their Caribbean peace of life.

Windsurfing, kitesurfing, surfing and snorkelling in magnificently clean and clear water, as well as swimming at fantastic beaches or pure relaxation.

The ultimate Caribbean feeling, white beaches, turquoise water, wind and waves, pulsating night-life, reggae music, and fun-loving locals! Barbados – that's where the action is!

Cause by the time the sun disappears at around 6 p.m. and 6.30pm and you have let off enough steam on the water, the hustle and bustle of the fish market in Oistins has already begun. Dreadlocked men chop up tuna fish with their machetes, freshly caught fish sizzle everywhere, radios blare out Caribbean music, and local women dance to the beat. Even dancing bears could learn a thing or two from them!

The spot in Barbados
The kitespot is situated at Silver Rock Beach, right next to Silver Sands. It's a fine sandy beach about 350m long, offering ideal tuition conditions. As the beach is much wider than Silver Sands Beach and there are no trees on its fringe, it is extremely well suited to beginners, too. About 90% of our courses are held here.

Only experts can launch at Silver Sands Beach. Once you have reached a skill level that goes beyond riding upwind (level 3), you can launch here and kitesurf in the area in front of the centre up to the first reef. As the waves break relatively slowly and collapse gradually from the top, they are also very well suited to wave novices. These characteristics make this spot an excellent all-round venue.

Those who do not kitesurf or windsurf will also be more than satisfied with the countless alternative activities on offer here.

Wind and waves
Barbados is known for its steady sideshore trade wind, which mostly stays within a range of 12 to 20 knots. The extremely constant winds make the spot ideal for beginners, too.  The best wind period is between December and March. A 1-2 metres deep reef 250 metres off of the shore creates a clean wave for riding downwind. Barbados has long been a renowned windsurfing spot and during the last couple of years it has also become a popular spot for kitesurfers.

The center
We are located on the world-famous Silver Sands Beach, directly adjacent to the windsurfing centre. Only a few steps from the centre and you're up and away on your board. The centre is always equipped with the latest North Kiteboarding gear. As this spot is highly suitable for wave novices, we have special equipment available for them.

The beach is truly beautiful, and crystal clear waters with temperatures of 27 degrees all year long make you forget the rest of the world immediately.
