Brazil Surfaris

Brazil is a top destination for a variety of reasons. Kiting, however is the latest. With constant wind (18-30+ knots) from July through January, it really is a kiters' paradise.

Our 7-Day tours begin after the airport pick up, we take you kiting in 4x4s on the beach through Cumbuco and Paracuru. Cumbuco is a hip little fishing village that's famous for the Cauipe lagoon. From there, we downwind to Paracuru which is the best spot for flat water, waves, and consistent wind. After 3 days, we take you back to Cumbuco before departing for the airport the next day.

Our 10-Day tour includes the above, but adds another 200 km of beach up to Jericoacoara (that's 10+ beaches), crossing river mouths by raft, stopping to kite at amazing lagoons, ocean coves and doing downwinders along the way. Jericoacoara is an incredible little oasis built on the sand, surrounded by massive sand dunes. We'll take you in dune buggies to kite during the day. When the tour is over, we return you to Cumbuco/Fortaleza. We design our tours so it's the perfect combination of kiting, nightlife and as much Brazil sun as you can handle!

Please check out our Special Offers section, we arrange some very attractive deals on a regular basis.

Here is a sample of a 10-day surfari:

  • Day 1. Leave Fortaleza in the afternoon and drive to Cumbuco. Check into the oceanfront pousada, relax for the evening, and get ready to kite!
  • Day 2. Kiting begins right outside your door in 80-degree water. Depending on the group, there's also the possibility of doing a 6km downwinder to a 20 acre shallow, sandy bottom, fresh water lagoon where you can enjoy some coconuts and snacks at an outdoor cabana when your done kiting for the day.
  • Day 3. Travel up the coast to Paracuru, one of the most magnificent kite spots between Fortaleza and Jericoacoara, often frequented by pros from around the world. You will have the option to ride part of this trip.
Option 1 - (for intermediate kiters). Repeat the downwinder from Day 2, stopping for some fun in the lagoon and continuing on to Porto do Pecem.
Option 2 - (for advanced kiters). Enjoy big wave riding starting in Porto do Pecem and ending in Paracuru.
  • Day 4. In Paracuru, you will have the day to explore the beautiful beaches. We'll do downwinders if the group is up for it. Come back to shore for a bite to eat throughout the day and spend the night.
  • Day 5. Another day in Paracuru, believe us, you will NOT want to leave these beaches. Kite the day away, downwind and spend another night here.
  • Day 6. Drive up the coast on the sand to one of the 10 best beaches in the world. Jericoacoara is a remote beach that is only accessible via 4x4 truck. We can stop along the way and do some flat-water kiting. Once in Jericoacoara, you will experience some of the best winds in the world due to the unique geographical location. Spend the evening soaking up the local culture and get ready for the day ahead.
  • Day 7. Spend all day exploring the secluded beaches of Jericoacoara. You have never seen kiting like this, or dunes for that matter. Kite the day away at your leisure. After the day, come back to the pousada and relax. Kick back with a drink before we head out for great meal with the group.
  • Day 8 and 9. Another 2 days in Jericoacoara/Prea/Guiru. We choose 2 downwinders per day and eat between them. Waves, wind and summer sun, you can't ask for more! By night you can dive into the luscious nightlife, lots of bars to choose from, some that stay open till dawn!
  • Day 10. Kite in the morning at Prea and have lunch before we depart early afternoon for a 3.5 hour drive back to Fortaleza (depending on departure times).
